Leather Seat Advice Needed
My driver's side leather seat is worn through on the left side where you rub against it when getting in. I really don't want to spend the $$ on new leather. Is there a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to fix this? Or will I have to take the seat to an upholstery shop.
By the way, I'm in the Sacramento area, so if I need to take it to a shop and anyone has suggestions for one, please let me know.

I bought an upholstry kit in vinyl that is mace to look like the factory leather. I believe it was around $300 for the upholstry.

Try a good local seat shop. They should be able to R&R the seat cover and replace that section with a piece of leather looking, matching vinyl. This is based on a friends sugestion. He owns a local shop here and looked at my sport seat with a same ware pattern and said, "when your ready to fix that, bring it in and I'll put a piece of vinyl in to fix the problem"....Frank

It also depends on what year your car is. The 94-96's with sport seats have a one piece replacement cover(which u have to buy in sets) and it is difficult to repair a section of the seat that is worn. pre 94's you can have a good auto trim shop repair the leather on the side bolster and it is pretty inexpensive.
