Default Replacing headliner

I have to replace the headliner in my 94 coupe. Does the healiner just pop out of the fiberglass top or are there any screws/moldings that I have to remove on the side?

Check back a couple of days on the forum, someone else had a similar question, general forum "headliner sagging".

........i took one out of a mid 90's targa top and found that it was securely glued in.

....i had a hell of a time removing it in 1 piece. i retro-fitted it into an 88 targa (after rebuilding the back) with clear bronze top to reduce the residual heat from top here in florida.

My 85 came out fairly easy. one I got one corner started it poped out. I found no glue one the side toward the targa top. The bow in the material seems to hold it in just fine.

Take a thin putty knife and run it around the perimeter slowly prying upward until you slowly separate the old top from the fiberglass,

Thne scrape the fiberglass very clean

Then wrap the new headliner round the old fiber lining leaving only @ 1 inch around the "glue side" of the liner.

Then spray the adhesive onto the fiberglass and press the new liner on. It sticks quickly so aim well!

.....well, ya lucked out!.......the one i took out had glue all over it. i think for some years they used some sort of "adhesive strips".i am unaware if the oem headliners were of the "pop-in" type...
