Default Code Reader

This ABS problem is getting under my skin.

None of the local shops have a code reader that will work.

Where can I buy a code reader for a 1990?

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Either use the paper clip ground---do a search to find "how to", or go to Ebay and buy an OBD1 code reader or go to: www.gordonkillebrew.com You have three choices.

I tried the paper clip to no avail. I did it right as I read the instructions ten times. I can recite them by heart.

Thanks for the link. Since many shops can't read these codes, it's probably better I have the tool.

Any reccomendations on the three choices?

What he has there is grounding plugs. It's not really a code reader. Does a true "code reader" exist for the 1990 and earlier?

Look on EBay for a GM TEchline TECH1 or 1A scanner. This is the tool that is called out in the FSM. You have to have the correct module for your year car and the system you are working on. The Tech1's usually go for $300.00 or more.
