Default Opti: WTF can cause this?

I met a guy today who's car has been eating an opti a month for the past 5 months. He's been using GM authentic parts, yet every month he pukes up another one. At first I thought it was a water pump because he said there was a serious moisture issue, but he says it's a new water pump and it isn't leaking. What else would cause this problem? It's been bothering me all damn day

It's actually a 97 30th Anniversary Camaro SS with an LT1 Auto. It has headers and a 3600 stall, and some minor bolt ons. Nothing too major, but at the same time I don't know the history of the car.

W/O knowing the full history, the most useful info is going to be knowing the nature of the failures. W/O something to go on, we'll just be pissing in the wind. At least we know we're dealing with the later opti now.

Maybe that's what's getting in his opti!!!! It would help to know the nature of the failures. Bearings, arcing, rotor breakage, or sensor failure are all possibilities. Robert
