THANX
To have them reconditioned and flow tested for $80 send them to Rich at Cruzinperfromance (link on my site). He does a great job with 2-day shop time. He will even blue print em for $5/injector replaced.
Your problem may be the IAC, TPS or something other than the injectors.
What year car do you have, you may have replaced the IAC but has the throttle body been cleaned. Build up on the throttle plates can cause all kinds of idle problems also most cars will idle at or around 600 rpms from the factory. If when you first come to a stop it dips real low I would check the throttle plates. Also if you have a 89 or newer unless you remove the injectors and have them sent out were they can sonic clean them there is a chance of shorting out the windings in the injector if you try to flush them with injector cleaner through the fuel rail, the coils of the injectors are gas cooled and a harsh cleaner can wash the insulation of the windings and short them out.
the throttle body was cleaned....what kind of cleaning do the injectors need...cause the place here said its something they have thats like a vacuum and its the latest thing..maybe u can tell me the name of it so i can tell them
thanx
We have this machine that runs cleaner through the injector rail and through the injector. Everytime I use this thing you can really notice an improvement in fuel pressure and idle quality. Its not uncommon to see an increase of 1 to 2 PSI increase. You should see the gunk that comes out too!! I think Midas and some of the other repair shops use them, but it will not do as good a job as removing the injector and having them rebuilt to blueprinted specs by a competent shop. On the other hand, that method will not clean the crud from the injector rails, fuel pressure regulator and the return line, which is usually the cause of some drivability problems. Just my 2 cents. Good luck, and if you're ever in Orlando, we could run your car through it....for $89.99 or course
jackyy, if the shop is talking about the motor vac system, in my opinion, I would do it. We currently have one at our shop doing demos and on my 87 it made a world of difference. The motor vac cleans not only the rails and the injectors, but decarbonizes the intake, valves and combustion chamber. When the Snap-on guy first brought the machine in and told us the price($4400  ) I was really skeptical, but after using it on my car I am a believer. :seeya
try a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner first to see if it helps...... I was having a lean problem, resulting in less power. I changed a few things, but also added a bottle of Techron & got some power back..... for a few $, it's worth a try
Are you talking about fuel additives in general or specifically Techron? I heard it is approved by almost every manufacturer. It is recommended by Porsche and Volvo. Also, I bought mine at the Chevy dealer. If anyone knows anything wrong with using Techron I would be very interested to know! I was told it is pretty much harmless when used as directed in just about anything.

Concur. I had a Motor Vac done about a year ago and it really did make a noticeable difference in throttle "crispness" (if that makes sense). Seemed to be kinda short lived so I guess its time for another visit to the shop.
Techron IS the only GM approved fuel injector cleaner.... not only is in in their routine maint. book, but when I was having trouble, I called Doug Rippie Motorsports (to order an AFPR) and they said to definitely try the Techron first.... I've used two bottles now & no ill effects (only better effects!)

i made an appointment at the vette dealer for tomorrow...they said what they do is the have a bottle and disconnect the fuel pump and make the engine run with this stuff and then reconnect the fuel pump...he said thats the best for the vette since the fuel injection system is different from other cars
thanx

Re: how do i clean injectors? (jackyy)
While you have not answered the question, I found that your have a 91 Corvette?
I would listen to David F, if he says you could get in trouble with cleaning in this manner it may be expensive not to listen. David F knows some stuff about these cars.
Good Luck, it's your choice. Might ask those lads if they will warranty those injectors after the service for the next 5,000 miles or so. Also might be a good idea to check hot and cold resistance of each injector before the test. Just some suggestions. Good Luck.
i wasnt trying to be a smart foot in any way.but its just that i asked midas and they said they do it with a revolutionary machine(vacumm or something)..and then i asked 3 different vette places..2 in florida and 1 here in canada and both say the same thing...but now your getting me scared...
thanx
