What is OptiSpark?
Well. I'm sure most of you know that I'm new to the Corvette scene. So, I have a newbie question. What is OptiSpark? I see a lot of people complain about it...

Optical distributor on the front of the engine, really sensitive to water and really expensive. Right underneath the water pump, so when the "gear driven 100,000+ mile reliable" water pump blows up at 30k miles, it takes the opti with it for companionship. Or if you can't wait that long, you can wash your engine and expediate the process.

Forgot to mention, it's only on LT1/LT4 engines, model years '92-'96. Earlier C4's have a conventional distributor where it's not so much in harm's way

Remember the good old days, where you didn't have to drain your coolant and remove your water pump in order to even get to the distributor?
