I'm trying to get the hub/pulley/clutch assembly off of the compressor with no luck. Removed the shaft nut and can't seem to get it off. I didn't see any type of c-clip or retainer. Need to figure out how to fix this quick as it's my DD. I was planning on just getting a new bearing so the car can be driven until i can replace the entire compressor, that or a shorter belt. The clutch ate itself with smoke, metal and burning plastic. Any ideas?

Even though Autozone rents the above tool, the ones they have don't work. So I would have them pull a new compressor of the shelf and then have they try their tool on it. They will see that it doesn't work, then sell you the one that does....
Thanks guys. I did manage to get it off - however, the bearing froze and ground down the compressor sleeve that extends from the body. If it's not one thing it's another!!!

Wow,thats expensive...if he has an 85 model,a reman with clutch isnt more than 140 from advance auto and a brand new unit is about 208 bucks. They have others slightly higher sold by ready aire brand.
Also, most times you have to buy a new drier and orifice and etc to even get the full warranty from the stores so that adds up even more money.
Then theres the R12 freon most shops will charge you 300 or more to recharge or the cheaper R134a conversion youll need to do if it hasnt been done already.
