Default Stalls when I rev it

When I start my '87 auto. then try to rev it, the car dies. If I don't rev it the car will idle fine. Can anyone help with this problem. Thanks in advance.

Wow...sounds like my 92. You should check the fuel pressure while trying to rev. The fuel filter seems like the first thing to check.

No codes? fuel filters are a good place to start. But essential tools such as a Digital voltage ohm meter, fuel pressure guage and the FSMs are a must have for our C4s. If you don't have those it can be a hit and miss. You may want to check for vacumn leaks, and check the voltage at the TPS.Checking fuel pressure is usually the first place I'll start, then vac. leaks, then sensors. Making sure your car is well tuned...plugs, rotor, cap, air filter, etc. should be a periodical thing.

I agree to first check the fuel pressure when giving throttle. If the pressure drops, then the fuel pump is on it way out.
