You should be able to drive it immediately. If you want, you could wait about 15 min to let it saturate and wick out throughout the filter, but it's not really necessary. More attention should be paid to how you clean it. Clean it with the water opposing the air filter flow or inside out. DO NOT speed up drying using a blow dryer or anything like that, just let it air dry.

Just cautionary note. I recently went through a lot of expense and diagnostics on a 96 tahoe with a K&N air filter. It turned out to be the mass air flow sensor, don't know how much truth in this but the technician at the dealership indicated that when servicing a K&N be very careful to overoiling the filter. He indicated that this can cause the maf to fail. I'm sure a main concern when servising a K&N is to be sure you have enough oil on it. Don't know if this is valid or not but I'll pass it on for what its worth., I'm running k&n on 3 different vehicles all with mafs. :confused:
