Broken rocker stud...
While i was starting off last night i blipped the throttle a bit in first gear to slide on the wet pavement and POP....then clacking noises and it started running like it dropped a cylinder.I limped it home and then to the shop this morning.Pulled the valve cover and the #1 intake rocker stud had snapped in half just below the lock nut.One seriously bent pushrod as well.The kicker is i replaced all the studs and rocker arms 5000 miles ago!It could have been alot worse.I hope everything is ok when i get her back together.All of this happened before i could get out of the church parking lot.Is god trying to tell me something?!

they are the comp roller tip magnum rockers.they were installed according to comp spec and procedure.the lock nut did'nt move the stud just snapped in half.
i replaced the broken stud and bent pushrod this afternoon and it runs fine.nice and quiet.knock on wood.....it was just a fluke.

I've broken 1 of the moroso 7/16 studs, was pulling into the driveway and had the same thing happen, clacking noise under the valve cover, then got out to see what was the matter, and I could see the valve cover getting dented while the motor was running. The studs that come with the AFR heads break also, I've broken one of those.
