Not doubting you unplugged the right module - there are many under there. I have never heard of one being unplugged - and the light remaining on.

Here is an archived thread - hope these help

Default Security Lamp

The security lamp CAN'T come on if the Theft Deterrent Control module is unplugged. You must have unplugged the wrong module.

Well, there is one way the lamp could come on with the module removed: If there is a short circuit-to ground, of the wire that goes from the security lamp to the module. That wire is dark green, and goes to pin D of the Theft Deterrent Control module. If this were true, the security lamp would be on ALL the time. I'd say this is a very unlikely situation.

the security lamp does stay on even after i disconnected the module, that seemd some what akward, if it is a short on the circuit on the dark green wire would clipping it stop the security lamp form turning on.

@quicksilver458, qws, and everyone else who posted replies. thanx for your help. it finally worked. the only thing now is the LCD insturment panel dims every time i turn on the headlight's. its really nothing big during the day but sure makes night driving a little risky and not knowing speed, temp, voltage or gas.
