Richmond Gears are what I bought. I have no idea if they are the best the worst or somewhere in between though. They work fine for me with no noise. The install price depends on if you want to drop the car off and pick it up or if you want to pull the center chunk yourself and take it in. If you pull the rear yourself figure $300.00 for labor. If you want to take it and drop it off, alot more. I can't tell you how much more because it all depends on where you take it.

I priced a "drive-in/drive away" installation several years ago with four local Corvette specialty shops in the county and got an average price of $1200, NOT including the speedo calibration.
Add another $250 or so for that.....

That is what I've been finding as a price as well.
Is everyone using the dodge gears? They seem to be the cheapest and from my searching do fit perfectly in the vette!

Precision Gear or Superior Gear ~$200
Rebuild kit ~$130
Seals ~$20
Labor ~$250
Richmonds have a reputation for being noisy. Also I'd avoid Randy's Ring and Pinion, they are known to rebox their gears. You could buy a Superior and get a cheapo chinese one instead.
I paid around $550 for mine and I removed the diff and reinstalled it myself. I used the shops parts as they were the same as what the internet prices were (~$200 for gears alone).
