and its over the full mark. This can't be good. If there is an injector leaking could the gas get into the oil? The car has been hard to start and you have to hold your foot on the gas till it warms up or it will stall. You can smell gas when it does start and it is running rough now, it sometimes backfires when comming out of passing gear. There is about 25000 miles on the LT1. The motor is about 5 years old now. What do you think? Bad injectors.
The oil is clean and no bubbles so I would have to say that it is gas in there. It just had an oil change about 250 miles ago and I doubt that it was over filled as the guy that does my work owns a Vette too. Just thought I would throw this out there to see what you think.
For the leaky injector, you will need a fuel pressure guage, ohm meter, and pull the plugs. Or just pull the fuel rail with injectors attached and pressurize the system and see if any are leaking, visually. Easy to do on a LT1.
specifically, that's 4.5 quarts to the crankcase, and half a quart to the oil filter.
Check to be sure the fuel pressure regulator hasn't blown up... remove the vacuum line to it and give it a sniff, or, if gas flows out... either isn't good.
