I'm running the 9.5" all the way around on my '93. I got tired of not being able to rotate the tires (somehow the back ones were always wearing much faster than the fronts) and the handling difference that the GM engineers determined would be different with an 8.5" front? No difference whatsoever! I'm happy with a modified alignment to achieve the "quicker turn-in" that a smaller contact patch tire would deliver.

Running 9.5's all around requires a different alignment?
I'm getting ready to switch over to ZR-1 style rims and am trying to figure out if I should stick with the 8.5/9.5 combo or just 9.5's all around. The ability to rotate sure is incentive.
Using 9.5" all the way 'round doesn't require a special alignment. I just mention it as the 8.5 by 9.5 factory config was supposed to allow for a crisper turn in rate with less input from the steering. This may be so, however, by changing the toe adjustment just a little out of the factory specification does the same thing. Does it wear the tires a little faster? Sure, but not a whole heck of a lot. If you go with 9.5's all the way around, you'll barely notice any difference.
I still have the stock 16x8.5, and while it hurts...I am choosing to spend money on real perf mods for nw. I want to get 9.5's all around os I can rotate (unless I get enough HP that I need fatties for the back).
