84 Exhaust ?

84 Exhaust ?
Have an 84, just put new mufflers (stock style) on it and the car shakes at about 1400-2000 rpm's. The cat-Conveter has been replaced by a chunk of pipe(still has tube for the emissions). The noise is more than I can stand. Is there a way to calm the resonanace down a bit. Add a cross over to the Y pipe or making it a true dual exhaust system?

Ron, Walker makes a rear Y-pipe with the crossover tube, I have it on my 84 and it helped out. Don't know about deleting the cat, car will be louder without the cat though. Have you visited the Cross Fire Vault? http://www.crossfire.homeip.net/

hi,install the crossover pipe and did notice a slight differance in the noise level.the resonanace was kicked down a notch and its once again fun to drive.good luck greg84 :D
