My engine is mildly modded (Ported heads, LS-1 cam, longtube headers, chip burned for the mods). I thought the initial reason it was running rich is that I found a blown header gasket. I replaced both header gaskets and it still runs rich. Any ideas guys? Any info would be appreciated.

Have any codes shown up? Have you changed any thing lately that would have had to do with A/F ratio?

I had this happen once when I had been working on the engine, I had forgot to plug the connector back in on the maf. Check this connection and even if it's plugged in, give it a shot of contact cleaner and plug it back in.

It appears this problem is not new with the header gasket replacement.

Lots of things could make it run rich. systematically trouble shooting the possibilities will save you from guessing and throwing money at it. Possibilities include:

A vacuum leak.
A bad fuel pressure regulator.
Leaky injectors.
O2 sensor problems.
TPS problems.
MAF problems.
MAP problems.
ECM problems.
Wiring to almost ANY sensor or the ECM.

Get out your FSM and start following the trouble shooting charts.

RACE ON!!!
