Default LT1 Radiator replacement cap > Autozone wrong????

I've called both autozone and pep boys for a replacement and the cap on the car is 15 lbs but both of these places are selling 16 lbs caps. I know that changing the pressure increases the boiling point, will this affect the operation of the cooling system????

I've searched and the only real answer I seen was in the c5 section where someone replaced his cap and the temps dropped by 20 degrees.

Has anyone switched from the 15 to 16 and what were your results/concerns?????

Need to run out and would like a definitive answer.

Thanks

Changing the pressure on the cooling system doesn't change the operating temp. It ONLY affects the boiling point, and at a 1 pound difference, not by very much, probably about 3°.

You need to find something worthwhile to worry about.

I think the only place you will find a 15lb cap is GM themselves...

I have been using the 16lb cap for a couple of years. I haven't had any issues. The temps are the same.
