Default LT4/LT1 Header install question

I'm in the middle of installing Melrose Longtubes on my LT4 and ran into a problem. They seem to be touching the heat wraping around the passanger side motor mount. Is that wraping nessessary or can I remove it? Should I not worry about? My L98 doesn't have any wrap and I am wondering if GM changed motor mounts for the LT4 and they can't handle the heat. I will check back in after I complete the rest of the install for your thoughts. thanks.

Obviously the heat wrap is there to protect the engine mount's rubber from being damaged. If removed would it hurt, the mount may harden and need replacing sooner. How much sooner, who knows.

Do not remove the wrap as stated above. It is there to keep the heat off the mounts. What is the harm of it touching?

Do not remove it. Maybe some modifications to the headers are needed.
