i reacently saw a little devise that you can get for a c5, which stops the rear bumpers from sagging, i think it was from ecklers or something.
on my 87, directly in the middle, just above the spare tire the rear bumper looks to be sagging just a little.
the bumper over the exauhst tips on each side sorta flow under the car nicely, but for about half a foot in the middle, the bumper sorta rolls down towards the ground.
i guess im asking, does anyone know if there is a device for this area on a c4??
you cant really notice unless someone gets down and points it out..... but to me, thats not the point.
When I was repainting my '88 a few months back I wanted to fix that same problem. I "carefully" heated and pushed the bumper cover back in place. Then I took a piece of aluminum angle 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/8" thick...trimmed it to fit between the exhaust cutouts. There is a row of slotted holes that run side to side on the inner lip that folds upward on the inside of the bumper cover. Clamp the angle inside the inner lip and transfer 4 or 5 holes from the slots on the bumper cover into the angle and bolt in place. Four months later, it's still arrow straight...cost about $5 for the angle....
If you can get some help pushing the bumper cover up and holding it in place while transfering the holes, you probably won't even need to heat it up. The angle is actually what holds the cover in place.
