Default engine lock

my engine is flooding with fuel inside the pistons and if i crank it wont budge i will like to remove them plugs and crank to see if it moves but i dont want to go on fire what will i need to do to be able to crank the car with the plugs out

Are you saying you think its hydro locked from fuel? As long as its not hot, it will not catch on fire. As an added precaution, pull the coil wire so you get no spark to the wires.

"Fuel inside the pistons" won't keep the engine from cranking. Fuel in the cylinders, or on top of the pistons, can cause a hydrostatic lock that will keep the engine from turning.

A 1988 with a coil in cap, HEI has no coil wire that can be pulled. on the left side of the distributor you will find a number of wires that plug into the cap from the bottom. Unplug and remove the large, pink wire, labeled on the cap as "BAT". With that wire disconnected your whole ignition system is dead.

I did unplug this wire when i checked compression test, it will be dead no spark.
