For those that are using engine oil coolers. What brand or type are you using and location of the cooler. Were you able to use your stock filter with the sandwich adapter? and how much did it cool down the temp.
Maybe some pics.
Looks like a nice setup. Did you block off the tranny ports on the rad or run it in series with the aftermarket cooler? Or is your car a standard shift? And do you have AC, meaning the cooler and fan are in front of the condenser. I need to know if there would be room for that setup. Wouldn't it impede the flow to the engine radiator? What kinda temps does the enging water and oil run at now? I have been considering the same setup. Also it looks like major routing of the lines. Is it difficult to route them? Thanks for any help.

Series ... after the stock cooler.

I have AC. With the 40cm SPAL you have to go back 3cm with the AC cooler. With the 38cm SPAL it would fit without that.

Yes, it would. That and this mods is why the SPAL is in front of the coolers.

Water and oil are never over 220°F. Even in a traffic jam with 100°F outside temperatures. Cruising on the highway at 100 mph ... approx. 175 to 190°F. Without the SPAL the water temp is at the readline in a 100°F traffic jam.

I'll post some pics later ... not really difficult.
Here are a couple of pictures of my oil cooler installation. My cooler and adapter came from Pegasus Auto Racing Supply the rest of the parts (hoses, fittings, etc.) came from local racing supply shops. I removed the auxiliary cooling fan from in front of my radiator to allow placement of the oil cooler as you see it. Oil and water temps are no problem on the street (what little it gets of that now) and the track.
Did you have any issues with the length of the preformed hoses that come in the kit? I bought this kit but I am thinking I may return it, it seems that it is so big that it will block the flow into the radiator with out using an aux fan.
