I am installing Hedman Hedders on my 85 L98 and have a couple of questions. What am I supposed to do with the air tubes that connected to the stock exhaust manifold. There are no connections on the new headers. Also, I dont see any opening for the O2 sensor. I am sure that these are easy questions, I've just never done this before.
You should have specified that you wanted headers with the A.I.R. fittings on them. My Hedman Elites came with thise fittings. I didn't weld a bung in my collector because the headers were coated so I put it on the collector cone, works great there. I used a heated O2 sensor.
There should be no codes thrown if you don't connect the AIR pipes to the headers. There is a pulley and bracket kit that installs in place of the AIR pump so you can use the same serpentine belt.
So is this what I am looking for for the pump delete? (From Mid America ----$150.00????)
This 1985-91 Air Pump Replacement Pulley Kit has highly polished aluminum brackets and uses grade 8 bolts. Also cleans engine area and, best of all, you can use your original serpentine belt. * For off road & race use, on dual exhaust cars only.
