Attempt #2 on resealing the intake, attempt #1 failed as I thought that the SS allen head bolts I was using were stripping out. Turns out what was wrong was the head itself was stripped out.....This car had been resealed once prior to my purchase but was leaking out of the back, so I decided to reseal it. The threads pulled out when I went to 35 ftlbs
I retapped the #6 to 7/16.......and it has held.
Question is, I am now torqued out of sequence.......
Do I take it apart and redo or will this hold? I went back through at the end at 35 ftlbs insequence....and then hit 1&4 at 45 ftlbs
After the repair, re-torquing the bolt out of sequence would not cause a problem. What's worse is re-torquing the other two bolts to 45 ft. lbs.
which would cause the manifold to seat unevenly.
Retorque the 1 & 4 bolts back to 35 ft. lbs. and everything will be fine.
