Default LPE Doesn't use accel anymore??

I always thought accel made the cams for Lingenfelter. They advertise the 74211 on their website as .530 / .560 with 1.6 rockers. My cam from them came today and its a comp cams grind cam. Same 211 / 219 duration, and the cam is rated at .501 / .526 lift. That makes it .534/.561 with 1.6 rr right? I doubt the extra .004 / .001 will make a difference, but has anyone else noticed LPE cams no longer come from accel? Anything else on the cam card I need to check to make sure it is the same? The lsa matches the website at 112...

I believe LPE switched to Comp Cams for their grinds about 2 or so years ago. It would be easier just to call them and find out.

Never heard of an Accel camshaft.

I've noticed this, the specs from Accel on the cams we recommend here alot, are not the exact same specs listed on LPE's site.

Accel is still making the cams to my knowledge though, I have the brochure.

I didn't know that they made cams either. Anyway, I wouldn't buy anything from Accel anyway. Every "sport import" has an Accel sticker on it.

At one time Lingenfelter sourced their cams from Accel which had them manufactured by Comp Cams. When Mr Gasket (the parent company of Accel) purchased Erson Cams, they moved the manufacturing of the cams to their own subsidiary. Lingenfelter continued purchasing cams from Comp Cams. You might notice a slight difference in the grinds due to the different manufacturers.

Thats odd, their LPE 213 grind came from the Crane Blue Racer line... as did some other of their products when I was checking a few years ago.

They may have also sourced parts from Crane. The development agreement between Accel and LPE expired several years ago.

A couple of months ago I called LPE and ordered their 219 cam from them. It was ground and shipped by Comp Cams. Same specs, works fine
