Cooling fans on a '93

Cooling fans on a '93
Is there a primary and auxilliary radiator fan on a '93? When my car gets hot, the fan on the driver's side comes on, but the passenger side fan doesn't. The car cools down just fine with just the one fan on. Should the second (auxiliary) fan come on, as well? If not, when does it become active?

thanks, fellows, very much. If I understand what you're saying, the fact that the fan on the passenger side is not coming on is normal, and won't come on until the car gets hotter. I'm unsure if there's a difference between the '93 and the '95; in fact, I don't have a clue. I'm about to remove the radiator, anyway, to have it cleaned, so I think what I'll do is check the relay and the motor just to make certain it's functioning.

i have a 93 and what was stated above is correct. The second fan will almost never come on during normal driving with the a/c off. Only when its very hot will it help cool. When the a/c is on however it will kick on so if you want to check it turn on the a/c and pop the hood and take a look if it's functioning.
