Due to the vehicle being wrecked the battery will not stay in the vehicle it is sitting on the ground with the cables holding it up in the air. I am redoing some things on it and I was just going to put it in the back some place. I was wondering if i could wire it with 2 gauge wire and put it in the back of the car or something like that. Anyone know what i should do. it will be very hard to fix the tray area it used to be in so rather just do it this way
If that is all that is keeping you from mounting the battery, you can get a used one from a salvage yard. I believe it is held on with 4 bolts. It's been a few years since I replaced one.
EDIT: actually there is a vette salvage yard about 15 miles from me. If you would like I could give them a call and get a price on one.

I had a cracked tray, so I had one shipped to me from a wrecker. Cost $25.00 total.
ok great i would much rather do that if its possible give me a price that would be very helpfull. the body part near that is damaged i do have a replace ment but its off two so the battery is just laying on the ground and i cant move the car around do to this problem which sucks
I just called Dino's Corvette Salvage and they have one but they want $50 not shipped. Seems a little high to me and I think you could find one cheaper at a different salvage yard or on Ebay.
Relocating the batterry can be a PITA. There really isn't a lot of room in the existing storage box behind the passenger seat and rerouting the cable will not be easy. The positive cable has at least one wire that goes to the so-called "jumper terminal" that is behind the stock battery location and there are a number of fusible links there that feed various circuits.
You will have to increase the wire guage for the main positive cable and also for the wire to the jumper block. The negative cable can be attached to any large metal part of the car frame but make sure you have a good clean contact. Make sure the engine block has a good ground to the frame.
Don't leave the battery inside the passenger compartment unless you can seal the battery in a box and vent it to the outside. Gasses given off by the battery during charging can be toxic.
Guess I don't see why you cannot re-install a stock battery tray back on the frame. There are only 4 bolts and you will not have to mess with any re-wiring. Even if the lower fender gill panel is not installed, you can still drive the car.
ok thanks for all the great info. I looked at the old tray area today in the light it seems like I can just bolt one back in that place. It looks like there are two top bolts and two lower side bolts. the car was wrecked in the front and the battery was lose and when we pulled it off the tow truck when i bought it the battery fell against the tire. Not knowing that as we rolled it off the truck the battery turned causing it to keep turning and burst out the side panel and breaking the tray. Thanks
