Default p600b quick questions...please chim in

I am consedering a Prochager p600b.

Is the bracket different on 91 than a 87 vette?, and does this bracket look right?

Can the pully be changed to another boost level, curent is 14lb pully, but want to run without a intercooler at first, so need lower boost.

What parts need to be relocatet in order to install a p600b on 87?
Alt?, powersteering? AIR?

Default Bracket on an 1987.

Not sure if they are exactly the same. I know the later cars had the dual pod intercoolers instead of the single large center intercooler. I forget which year they went to the lay down style radiator that made this happen so you will have to check. I happen to have the motor out of my car right now to address some head stud issues from the engine builder installing them wrong so just went out and grabbed my bracket and took a photo. I don't have the supercharger on it, and the alternator is, because I didn't want to have one more thing to unbolt so you kind of just have to look at the photos and see if it looks the same as yours. Bear in mind that my P600b kit is 10 years old now and was one of the first ones made so there is a chance they made some changes during it's model run. The extra hole for the alternator was done by me to put more tension on the belt and to try to get more wrap around the pulley to get it slip less. You can see from the rub marks that the alternator used to rub against the idler puller it was so close. That's why it kinda looks chewed up there a bit.

Another blower side looking forward but with the bolts out of the way.

Hope this helps you out some in figuring it out. My car is an 87. Like I said the only differences I remember in the L98 kits was the change to two side pod intercoolers for the lay down radiator cars. Looking at your picture it looks like they might have moved the alternator mount spot to a point halfway between my stock one and the new hole I drilled then made the top of the bracket straight.

The brackets Lars show fit all models from '85 - '91. ATI did not change the head unit brackets over the years. However, the IC and ducting were changed in very late '89 when Chevrolet went to the more laid down radiator. On the later models, they went to the twin small ICs, vs the single FMIC.

On Lars bracket, nothing has been changed for the alternator mount. If you are wishing to reduce belt slip and increase belt wrap, the idler can be moved to increase the wrap from ~250° to ~330° wrap.

The chewed up idler is indicative of nearly every Procharger installed on an L98 that I have seen. This is a very common occurrence.

The Procharger systems wee changed to include more items in the kits to make the truly "bolt-on kits", but the hard parts stayed pretty consistant.

I hope this helps,
Aaron
