engine noise
when I pull in the garage I hear engine running knocking sounds. The car has 80,000 miles and is clear and dry. The 93 ruby convertable runs great and there is no misses. The sounds of course seem to come from under neath the car. The sound is not a hard metal sound and it (or they) vary with rpm. Most noticed at idle. One person told me that it was just the sound of a chevy motor. There's got to be a better answer than that. This ruby is in fine shape and now I'm embarrested by the engine noise. Any ideas

Most likely its one of the accessories on the serp. belt.
Let it run, open the hood and listen and try and pinpoint the noise.
I had this problem a few weeks ago. It turned out to be the idler pulley. That was more of a grinding noise though then a knock.
