Default Long time...no update...

Well its been a while and some of you were inquiring how I was making out with the vette. After a long drawn out mystery of problems with the DFI system - I finally (knock on woods) seem to have emerged from the schleprock cloud that has been over my head.

Took the car to the track this weekend for some new shakedown runs after running it on the street for a while to make sure everything was ok.. First run off the trailer the car went:

60' 1.43
330 103.2MPH
1/4 10.42
mph 132.X

Was pretty pleased with that and it carried the front tires about 1 ft off the ground for about 12ft.

Tweaked the fuel curve for the incriments the system was correcting more than 5% and took it out again.

1.45 spun a little
103.X
10.38
132.9

Getting a little better.

Tweaked the fuel some more and added about 2* of timing to the 5000+ range. 37* total.

1.42
103.6mph
10.34
133.XX

It was a BIG difference driving the vette after getting out of the wheel-standing MONSTER Chevelle. But the feeling was good to be back in the saddle of my machine. Dang is that thing SMOOTH feeling...from start to finish, baby just doesn't miss a beat.

The air was around 2000-2300ft so when the frigid air come rolling in and I drop off the resistrictive exhaust she should really wake up. I know the exhaust is a good .15sec loss conservatively. Last year at this time/weather my MPH was only around 101.8s so its definately pulling harder.

9s maybe later in the season?? Stay tuned.

Sorry to the vette group that invited me down for the friday race. Many factors kept me from coming. HUGE program at work I am managing and weather seems very iffy to waste a day of vacation with the twins soon to be here and I might need a few days for that....
