ok, i have a 1993, and i want it to be louder, im new to the car, i use to drive a wrx and i just took out the cats and all the other stuff blocking my flowedge, but i no that i need back preasure, and im bit low on money, what should or can i do, im 16 years old and im still learning, Thanks for all the help.
If you have a welder and a Sawzall I'd say you can do just about any exhaust project yourself... The easiest/cheapest way to increase the volume would be to replace the mufflers with straight pipes and weld the old tips back on. This is something that others here have done and perhaps someone that has will chime in...
Cheapest would be to have the tips cut off the mufflers and have a muffler shop weld pipes in place of the mufflers and the tips on the end of the pipes (muffler eliminators). It gives it a throaty sound and it only cost around $60-80. You can order hi flow cats to replace the stock ones and they will flow a little better. All depends on if you have the tools.
my brothers profesion is welding, so i guess i can get to work on this, thanks alot 4REGT4 and RRT vette. one of my first post and i already feel very welcome.

Didn't notice...welcome to the forum. I'm sure others will clue you in on something else as well. Depends on how much money you want to put into the exhaust. There are tons of combinations out there and low to high prices. The muffler eliminators are the cheapest and make it sound like a vette should. Though you will not improve the flow by much with just them....the LT1 mufflers flow pretty well.
You say that with such casualness, like "doesn't everybody" yeah, I had a Lamborghini Countach when I was that age. Nothing to see here.
Nice -- interesting that both cars were designed by Bertone. In my case my fathers business is vintage Ferrari restoration and re-bodies. In other words I was more or less expected to get a Ferrari as my first car... However, I have always liked Corvettes.
first i had a 300zx, and i miss it, wonderful car, then i got the wrx sold it to my bro and baught this vette, you can realy tell between turbo power and muscle power, i liked the wrx but i was looking for more of a sport car.

Flowedge, there's an interesting word. Don't worry about losing or replacing the stock LT1 cats, they flow very well. The only reason to replace them on an LTx car is if you use long tube headers in which case aftermarket ones will be needed.
2nd, please try and spell correctly. You will get flamed on this forum for bad spelling.
3rd, before you do ANYTHING to a car, do some research. Cats on a vette are pretty good, on a LT1 you only lose about 5hp and on an L98 you lose about 12-15hp. That in the grand scheme is nothing and since you want sound, then get a pair of Magnaflow or similar mufflers. I guy near me has them and they made his car louder and sound a lot meaner.
