Well after sat. at the drags I have decided it's time for a higher stall converter. I have been told that Coan Racing makes a great tc. Does anyone have prices for a Vigilante. I am looking for a 2800 - 3000 for my LT1. How about ya PeteK you have a connection don't you.
Fred,
I do have a connection. My guys could make anything from mild to wild. They do not sell vigilante's, but they make their own.
You cannot knock a Vigilante. They are first quality all the way. I use my guys because they have never let me down. Quality, price, or service they are as good or better as anyone. There are many sizes, options and prices. If you are making enough power that you need the best of everything, then a high dollar unit like a vigilante will fit the bill. If not, a lower priced, quality buit 12 inch may suit your needs.
Over on the LS-1 Tech site I was following posts about "Fuddle" converters. I have had Pro Torque, Vigilante, TCS in my my own cars but purchased a Fuddle unit for my LT-1. I think you should look into them as well, they are racers, and have many street people running their products.
I bought my converter from Howard's Torque Converters in Salt Lake City for $350.00. Fuddle racing in Salt Lake City sells his converters too and have a web-site with some info. Howard's builds them. Very friendly guy and knows what he is doing. Mine was 50 bucks less than if I got it at Fuddle.
