Default timing gear question

Hi,need a little help before I shoot myself,I installed a new cam with the cam gear 0 at the bottom lined up with the crank 0 ,the #1 piston was at the top of the bore,is this correct?the reason I ask is the manual states when adjusting rockers(starting with #1) to turn the crank in the normal running direction as you come to 0 if the valves(lifters) are moving you need to go 180* cause your at 0* # 6, being that I just put it together as stated above would I be at 0* top dead #6,cause the lifters were moving from where I installed the gears and chain from the start. Thanks for any help

With the timing gear's dots aligned you will be At #6 TDC compression stroke. #1 TDC compression stroke would be both dots at 12:00.

Yes, the camshaft is installed correct. With the dots aligned #1 is at TDC exhaust stroke.

Yes. The camshaft turns at 1/2 the speed of the crank. After one complete revolution of the crank shaft, the dots will both be at 12:00 o'clock, as is necessary for #1 to be at TDC at the end if it's compression stroke.

RACE ON!!!
