My 84 C4 has been stalling out lately, especially when I apply gas quickly when its idling. To counter this, I raised the engines idle speed. First, does anyone have any insites as to what would cause this? Second, what are possible side effects of raising the idle speed?
FYI my father scrapped the crossfire engine and replaced it with a newer 96 engine, dual fuel injectors. Its automatic transmission, 380HP. I've also noticed what i believe is a slight engine skip. I've checked my spark plugs, they all appear to be firing, so Im not really sure what else to look for. Any help, suggestions would be quite welcome.
Hmm, I was looking around the forum and noticed someone else was having a problem with power at higher speeds. Im also having what I think is a similar problem and it seems that traditionally this is related to fuel pressure. Im going to buy a guage tomorrow and see what I can figure out.
