i need help finding a new cam i want comp cam but don't know what size to get . still like dd. want nice sound have headers melrose x pipe flow dual cats , 3.54 gears, hyper chip ,basics set up want a all around street stripe cam . can anyone help and if anyone is familier with a comp cam xm 278 has a nice lobe sound ,what to do?

This is for an 85 correct? It'll have to be a hydraulic flat tappet.
The question that must be answered is whether or not you are going to change the intake and heads at all. 85 heads really should be changed. Picking a cam without a set of goals in mind will likely leave you unsatisfied as well. You will have to have a custom chip done on top of it. You may want to read my website (click my name)

want to put roller lifters and rockers if possable as for what i want still dd. as for heads i thought i would have them gone threw but if i have to get new ones then fine what one is the question,i want this thing to go as fast as i can 0-130 , and still drive 600miles if had to.

the 85 heads can be made to flow well have them ported and get 2.02 valves, and get them milled just a touch to bring your cr up to around 9.4.1 this and a mild cam, with a moddified tpi and keep in mind the custom prom, this will get you between 330-350 hp, and will make a great street engine this is my combo in my 85 vette.
