Default Neverliht rebuilds C4 drivetrain to solid rear

The Question is just how much quicker will the 60 ft. be with the same engine and Trans 700r4 after all the power is put to the pavment? If anything?

The old rear was a 3.07 and it had the original set of zo6 wheels 11 inch wide 315 35 R17 with a bunch of U joints and short shafts/ you know Independent suspension. This ran 1.8 60 ft. as an average but some times 1.7 60 ft.

The new rear is a 12 bolt 3.54 four link set up with 15 Inch wheels 10 inch wide both set up's will be using BFG DR'S but I do not know just what size tire it uses just yet. 325 50 15

Now it probably won't get to the track for a while but I just want to throw this out there to see if another racer is telling me the right numbers to expect or just talking out of turn?

Default Rear End

You may want to consider a different rear gearing.

Get ahold of Mackeyred96 as he has the Neverlift setup in his car, and he can give you data.

Ken i can't believe you're actually doing this, but given the number of rears you've gone thru, i don't blame ya. In fact you probably woulda saved money if you did this first......lol. Strange how these things are hit or miss.

BTW< Chris was using 325x15x50 drag radials and is now using 28x15x10.5 slicks.

KEN, as Ralph stated cost wise you’ll save money in the end. Leo and NeverLift does great work, I’m very pleased with the way it turned out.
As for performance on my second run with this setup I had my 2nd best 60’ ever and the condition was 180 degrees from best 60' run, so I was very pleased. I'm just sorry I've been so busy here in Tennessee to do more racing but my time will come.
As for gears and tires I’m running 4:88 with 12.5x28x15 ET Drags.

Thanks John,
Do you remember what the 60 were before and after just how much faster were you.18 to let's say 15? I mean without changing the engine at all.

If you are hooking now (not spinning), then changing to a solid rear won't make much impact at all. If you are spinning, then you may be able to work on your hook better with a solid rear.

A 12-bolt with good parts should be nearly bullet proof. Just keep the tire size (circumfrence) the same as to not screw with your net gearing effect.

I hope that rear you posed about really isn't a 2.54. You'll never make enough torque to get the car moving.

The rear end itself is only one piece of the puzzle. You need to be able to get the car to work as a whole. This means the front end and rear end must work together. You'll need decent adjustable shocks front and rear. You never said if the new solid rear is going in with a 4-link, ladder bars, or...? If done right, this car should hook extremely well. But with any customization of chassis work, you'll have to play around to get the best out of it.

If it's like mine it will be 4 link and coil overs.

Yes it is a 4Link with coil overs. 325 15 50s and a 344 rear. This should put the 400 ft lbs of torque to the track.

Chris

I am doing this because I am tired of replacing parts almost every other week and rears twice a year. I spent enough in parts to do this job. But did not get anything for it, If you know what I mean It's been four rears and three of them were Dana 44$$.
I was talking to some dude about what the car had and he said that the 60 ft was going to be a lot better with this and was checking around to see if he was right or just blowing smoke up my tailpipe.
