then make a call... I hope it's nothing more than a gasket and you have caught it before it went really bad.
No mate, nothing mixing apart from gasses into the coolant. No smoke from exhaust, only small bubbles in surge tank, oil is still perfect clean gold colour, no sign of any moisture there, no sign of coolant evaporation on the inside of the filler cap, no nothing apart from my little bubbles....

none at all. These are the head gaskets use on the 260hp, iron head version of the LT1.
The Impala SS is a generic term, but the engine was used in police and towing packages, plus, on the Buick and Caddy versions of the B-bodies.
Thats what i thought mate yeah. Although i thought the Impala SS had alloy heads, i knew there was one that had iron heads, ive never really looked into it.
So the 1/2 a point more compression that STL94LT1 is talking about means how much more?
Ive been warned off doing such mods without doing up the bottom end at the same time. Since its not new and no one knows how many miles or what was done when it was last apart, so for all we know it may have 95,XXX miles on it without being touched.

Yes, 67 lb/ft is the final torque spec for the head bolts.
