I got under the '85 4+3 this evening to look for the oil cooler.
(Didn't find it.)
What I did find were two single pin connectors that are about 2" long. They were right by my oil filter and immediately fed into a wire bundle, so I could not track them.
Well, one was mostly unplugged. (In, but not clipped.)
What the heck are they for? I got no codes off the computer.
That's a for a 3/4 fexer valve. Use a little 30 weight and it should be fine.
Only thing I can think of is an O2 sensor wire or an ABS sensor wire (white or yelowish color). Anything unplugged off the battery cable + lead? I recall finding one similar when replacing a positive cable.
Methinks it was the water temp sender. Up until I connected it, I had a 'lo' reading on my dash. I thought it had something to do with my radiator cleaning tonite, but chances are that my mechanic properly burped it after the F&F.
Correct oil temp sender and the other could be for the 02 sensor or there is a 1 wire connector that goes to the temp sending unit between cyls.2 & 4 that connect down there. Pipe

The oil filter attaches to the oil cooler and the cooler attaches to the block--the cooler is only 3 inches high and has a rubber hose/hard line from the main water pump hose and second rubber hose into the block.

I have an early '85 ironhead. I'm not thinking it has the cooler, but I'll check closer. I have not had the car very long and the last owner changed the oil for me when I bought it.
