simple L98 project...thought's??
The car has typical bolt-on mods...cat back exhaust with random tech cat, pulleys, open filter and k and n, hypertech chip and thermostat, etc...While I have the motor slightly apart, I figured I'd get a lil' work done.
The Tpi intake is off the car. A flow-bench is being used to port it. The cylinder heads are being match ported to the intake. Would love to fully port, I know this is where to really generate power. But trying to keep this work on a budget.
Going with a comp cam custom grind (something in the neighborhood of 210/220 for duration, approximately .500/.510 lift, and will degree the cam later). The cam was chosen using the vin# for the motor. Gonna use pro magnum lifters, rr, etc...
I want to mention that this is a street car and that I am trying to generate a lil' more power. All the work is being done at a fair price. Not really intending to get into the block at all. Figure that if I really want to go crazy, I can always go back in and work it again later.
Also intending to keep this car emissions friendly. Without burning a chip and either fully porting or changing my heads, I realize that this cam is about as aggressive as I can get (btw, thanks vader86 for helping to clarify this point).
I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts were. Being told that I will generate approx. 25% more power. A number which sounds extremely high to me. In the end, I'm not really concerned with quantifying exact hp/ torque #'s...I would just like to have a rough idea where the car will be at...

I would think the torque would be up a bit, but remember, your still gonna be rev limited with a TPI.
I would think that I would go for buckets of torque and a cam that fades out at 5500 RPM
