I have just acquired a nice 95 C4 black on black convertible here in England, low mileage (35,000) and therefore possible suffering from lack of use. As a result I am still getting used to it. Please forgive any repetition of previous postings for the following.....
When travelling 50-70mph up a gentle incline and with the gearbox in overdrive, if you accelerate quickly then there is a down shift and all is OK. But if you accelerate gently there is a sound that to me is like pre-ignition (pinging I think you call it). I suspect the knock-sensor may be a little tired. Any experience of this over there or should I just drive it harder?
