What is the cheapest way to add 13" rear calipers ('88-96)
I have a custom rear suspension set up, using 88-96' components.
I spoke to Rippie Conversions (and am using their front conversion package), but the [I]rear[I] adaptors are $600 per side (vs. only $185 for the front package).
I recognize that cheap is a relative term when discussing tuned suspension set ups.
What is the most economical way to get some bigger brakes on the rear?
Thanks,
Chris

I've found only one manufacturer that sells 13"x.87 rotors. These will fit inside the stock 88+ rear calipers, allowing to use the built in parking brake. Of course you'll need to fab an adapter to relocate the caliper outward. The rotors are 2-pc meaning they'll require a wilwood hat to fit your bolt pattern. I haven't gotten around to trying this mod because the hats are $125 each and the rotors are $125 each. I don't recall the source for the rotors.
There are other options, such as modding the spindles and bolting C5 fronts back there, but all the ones I've seen get rid of the parking brake.

Coaster,
Thanks for the info....you are confirming what I have found thus far also.
I was surprised to find how relatively easy it was to up grade the front brakes....I expected the rears would be just as simple....Wrong!

other than cosmetics, I don't see a huge advantage to larger rear brakes... they only do about 20% of the job, so you increase the unsprung weight for not much help...
