Default Buying a D44...

I’m thinking about getting another D44 and have some questions. What are some options and prices for getting used and new housings? Used options…I was thinking either a salvage dealer or the sale section of this forum. New options, I’m clueless? Also, how much money are these going for new and used? Thanks

I lurked the for sale sections on a couple of boards and it seems like they only come up every couple of months. I got lucky and found one local for $930. Great shape with 3.54 gears stamped on it.

www.corvettecentral.com and many others have them rebuilt. CC looks to be $1200 with core. Without the core, ouch! I don't think you can get them new, just rebuilt.

I really wanna keep my current core. I haven’t totally decided yet, but I’m thinking about getting another D44 diff, housing, batwing, and some gears. Then having Jeb cryo everything and install the gears.

I'm not sure what their prices are like now, but when I bought mine a couple years ago they seemed to have the best prices. Then again I live close so I avoided shipping.
