Default Cam Size Question

Does anyone have any idea on what is the max size cam I can go with and still be able to pass the California sniff test. I have heard the the LT4 hot cam will not pass, so I will need something between stock & the the hot cam. I would like to squeeze another 25 - 50 hp &ft.lbs out of the car when I rebuild in the next few weeks.

The motor will have AFR 195 heads.

LT4 hotcam will pass. You just need to find the right chip tuner to make it so.

I passed the nor. va. test. Not sure how it compares to California's test. They put my car on the dyno test at 15 and 25 mph and sniffer test. My chip was done by Alvin at www.pcmforless.com See signature for complete list of mods.

I passed Missouri's emissions test with my Comp Cams custom grind camshaft. Specs: 224/230 605/622 112.

California does have the strickest emission regs in the country, and a real pain to deal with. I want to try and push the envelope a bit, but I was told by a highly regarded Corvette mechanic the the hot cam will not pass. I don't need to get that aggressive with the cam as the heads have already given me a pretty good power boost, and I just need an extra 25 - 50 hp/ft.lbs. to reach my objective. I am hoping to find anyone out there with some experience with CA.

I just disconnected my ESC wire at the brake booster. Runs car off base timing, emissions are way less.
