Default Interior help needed (pics)

Started working on refurburshing my interior again and ordered new bottom seat foam from Ecklers. According to Ecklers, Mid America and Corvette Central, the seat foam that I ordered is the correct seat foam. 1994 vette.

Well, when the new seat foam arrived it looked almost the same, figured that over time the current foam had disolved so there would be some difference. Well, they are not the same. I removed the seat covers (currently in the vette) and the seam line is diffenent and the loop connector that holds the seat in place will not reach.

I've gone to every website that I can find and all say that the foam that I received is the correct replacement.

For those that can help, did the 94's have a standard and a sport seat like the 93's? If so, any thoughts on where I can get a different (correct) foam set. I'm out of options.

I've attached a couple of pictures for you see and comment. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Not real sure, but your seat foam looks like what a standard seat would be. But the cover you have looks like from a sport seat. Pretty sure they had both types of seats in 94.

The white foam I see on the right side of the picture looks to be the foam seats used in earlier C4's. It also looks standard to me. The sport seats have the buttons on the side bolsters and this don't look like it has the cut outs for it. I may be wrong but thats what it looks like to me. It don't look like it came out of a 94.

Eckler's - that explains alot. Hope you have better luck with them than I've had. They don't even return phone calls.

Thanks for the replies. The uncovered seat foam is from Ecklers. I've looked at every picture on the web from 1984 to 1996 and they all look the same except for the pre-94 sport seats that had the buttons on the side. My 94 has the seat adjustment buttons in the center console.

Quite a quandry. Agreed, the uncovered seat cushion looks like it is for a pre-94 seat but all markings - barcodes and pictures state that it should work

No dowg, it looks like my seats. I have a 93. The cut / break foam where you butt goes on the right in the first pic has the same line as mine.

Tell those F^OK heads to send you the right part. Send them the pictures.

Try ordering from al knock or someone else, in my opinion elcklers is a rip off. Their prices are so rediculous I consider them theives.

Ok look at this price difference. There were selling flowmaster mufflers for our c4 for $300 dollars each muffler. I bought the whole cat back system with the same exact mufflers from jegs for $250 as a package. I look in that catalog to see what I want then I find the item somwhere else and buy it.

Default Update

Talked with Ecklers this morning and it appears that the 94-96 years had two (2) different seats. One standard and a sport. The sport model does not have a replacement - they were injected directly into the covers and bottom frame.

So, to get new foam, I have to send the entire seat (bottom and back) to ecklers to have them re-injected. Can't imagine what that would cost just in shipping.

On top of that, Ecklers is now balking at taking the seat foam back. I live about 110 miles from the nearest automotive upolostery shop. The person that I talked to say they have to talk to the warehouse manager to see if they will even take it back.

Just completing the story.

According to Al Knock you can not just order the seat foam. 94-96's had a special process for the 94-96's sport seats thus no just ordering the foam. You can order the foam and leather covers for $900.00. However, can't do that at this time.

Thanks again for all the advice. I love this place and all the helpful folks.
