Default Got the vette back together

Well I have the diff. back together and in the car. Only problem I noticed is a slight oil leak where the weld was done on the carrier. For now, I am going to monitor it, and leave it until winter.
But I must say, this diff, is totally quiet. I drove it about 25 miles and there is no noise at all. The other 2 had richmond gears so that may have been the cause of the noise with them. This one has a new case assy. and dana 3.73 gears. The car rolls easier, ( less engine drag) but I am not sure how much it will hurt performance. Im going to the track wednesday to find out. Oh, and I went back with 1 additive and mobil 1 75-90 oil. Thanks to everyone who gave me input on getting the car back together.

Might try a little epoxy, or JB weld on the leak to hold you over.

I cant believe the rolling resistance on these cars,,,, I was highly suprised when I got my first 94.

I assume from your post its mostly in the rear ends.

Curious to see if it makes a diff at the track.

3.73's should be only a tenth or 2 max raise in ET im guessing.

I was thinking about jb weld or one of those brazing rods made for alumium.

The rolling resistance that I am talking about is mostly due to the engine rpms of the 4.09 vs 3.73

Thats about what I figure, but 1 to 2 tenths is a lot when you are setting on the 11-12 sec. line. But eventually the supercharger addition should take care of that.

I will try to keep you in mind. Hopefully this one will not break and it will last awhile.
