those who are running these pumps do you have any pics of them installed? Is it nessisary to remove the water pump drive gear or is it okay to let it spin?

I would think that without the pump to support the drive, it'd be difficult for the drive seal to hold for long. Besides, I wanted to remove mine so I could use a true double roller timing set.

What are you guys using to block off the drive hole left in the water pump housing? Would i have to get a different timing cover? If i remove the timing cover it would probably be a good time to upgrade the cam . How difficult is it to remove the timing cover?
one more thing.. If you decide to do what I did, make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing when welding aluminum. Heat dispurses faster in aluminum and may distort the timing cover/ruin the opti/crank seals.....
I removed the wp gear and shaft to prevent future leaks. The seals can only take so much wobbling before they wear out and leak. Use the supplied freeze plug in the pump body, then jb weld a 50 cent piece into the timing cover hole. Two years coming up on my mod and no leaks.
