Already did that. Fixed a problem when it wouldnt start for over a year (long story)...anyway.. bypassed the lock and it fired right up... 8 months later, VATS is back...and at this point, you can't bypass anything else, so the easiest option is to remove it completely.

nobody wants to steal a c4 anyway
hahahaha I totally agree! Another reason VATS is pointless these days. I think of Miami Vice, hawaiian shirts...and Guido out there jacking your car. Just look at GTA:Vice City LOL... those days are long gone. Nobody wants a 20 year old wore out car that is worth nothing these days.

bye bye forever VATS, I will never miss you!

and in a case like mine, i mwas getting a chip tune anyway, so vats removal was the perfect "while you're at it" mod to preclude future headache.
I was in the same scenario. I am so glad I did it. I just got my car running decent again, started driving it, then was stuck every other day and had to call the wife to come get me from work. it started fine the next day of course, so I could drive it home. Now I NEVER have to worry about this happening again ... oh yeah, and I got my motor all race tuned on top of it woo hoo!

VATs will stop any punk kid joy rider from stealing my car.
Punk kids steal hondas, not old Vettes. Besides, they have better things to do with their time, like throw concrete blocks through my windshield

I did most of that, although the system I got was interfearing with the VATS at the time because it had it's own starter kill. I need to get it hooked back up because i really miss the keyless entry!

Plus the alarm keeps the cats from peeing on the hood and scratching my glass top
