Default 165 Ecm

I am very new at this tuning and want to learn.

My 86 has a 165 computer and I can only talk at 160 baud. How can I speed it up?

Eddie,
What software are you using. If TunerPro/RT i've had no luck on my '86. Even spoke with Mark and Craig. I've only been able to get 8192 with Diacom/+. Funny thing is I can put the ECM into 8192 with Diacom and then get a good 8192 connection with TunerPro. But Mark says that $32 won't connect at 8192.

These ECMs output data at 160 baud 25 bytes at a time in ALDL mode and then wait a specific time (50 msec) for an inbound sequence that commands 8192. Once in 8192, the ECM will stay in that mode until power cycle. Diacom/+ seems to do this fine on the $32 mask, but TunerPro does not. Haven't messed with the others much.

The $6E does do 8192, but to work with a 4+3 requires a but of tweaking that I will probably attempt this Winter. The $32B, although claimed to not do 8192 worked in my case. YMMV.

Ray, What broadcast code were you planning on using with 6E?

I Have tried the ARAP $6E but can't seem to connect with datamaster or tunerproRT.

Give us more information on what hardware you are using.

I believe using $6E the ECM needs to recieve a command before it sends data out at 8192 baud.
The 160 baud $32 just sends data if the 10k resistor is in circuit.
So at min. you need the two transistor homebrew cable I have seen some with only one.

Have you identified the comm port that the AKM usb cable is using? I am a tunerpro rt user. Having said that, did you set the interface type to max232 and the comm port to the one used by the AKM usb cable?
