afr heads 195 help ?
I would like to know what kinda performance I can expect out of these heads and how much more HP . I been thinking of getting sum heads heard these are the top dog :cheers: .Also what would i need to replace on my exh.Would i need to replace my manifold or use the stock one?? I got an 85 vette 383 L98 with slightly mod heads. jay

I've heard good things about AFR heads and also about ported #113 Vette Al heads. Your 383 would realy benefit from full-length headers and free-flow exhaust mods. Also you need some real intake work and cam to unleash that bad boy.

Use 190's not 195's. They are a better fit for the L-98 intake manifold. The 195's can be made to work but it ain't easy. The runner from the intake to the intake on the heads is not thick enough on the intake manifold side to seal properly. Your milage may vary, but I would definetely check with AFR before I ordered the 195s for an EFI intake manifold. Check the flow numbers between the two. They are very comparable.
