C5 Front brake conversion on 1996 CE
Bought a C5 conversion kit from VB & P to replace my J55's--see link for kit descriiption (http://www.vbandp.com/detail.aspx?ID=292. I installed it in ~ 3 hours four weeks ago. Everything fit perfectly. I also bought the quick bleed valves from them. The brakes have never been better. There is no front to rear balance issues that I can detect. I no longer worry about maybe stopping and don't have to go the the spa to strengthen my right leg and I got a 10% discount as a forum member!

So your new set-up stops match faster than your old 13" HD brakes? I have read mixed things on this conversion, and I am wondering if worth it. Did you have stock pads and fluid in your old system? How is it different as far a feel?

I tried different stock pads as well as PFC Z rated pads. The PFC pad were a little better but I still had no real confidence when doing the unexpected freeway stop. I did all the things re booster check valve replacement and fluid replacement and carefully beedding pads and rotors. Yes, this conversion was very much worth it. Even my wife can tell the difference.
