LT1 Heads
Hi Guys...Quick Question Would 96 LT1 Heads Work on my 86 L98..I can Get A sweet deal on a set but not sure if they will work...Just trying to make it breath better..I know I can go with 88-91 heads..But I just wanted to know if it would be worth it...Thanks

You can have them modded for around couple of hundred dollars, but you will need to run an LT1 intake manifold and have that modded for a distributor and use a remote thermostat housing. You will lose your EGR capabilty so if you need to get emmisions inspected, you will fail.
Should cost around $1100, and the engine will breath a little better. I'd put a cam in as well, to take advantage of the upper RPM power the LT1 setup will give you.
Heads $200
Modding the heads $200
Intake with modding $500 (less if you supply teh intake)
Thermostat housing $50 roughtly
Small cap distributor $75
Misc fittings and hoses and fuel line adaptors $100 at most.
